Remembrance Sunday - Lest we Forget

In the UK, Remembrance Sunday is the Sunday closest to November 11th (Armistice Day), the anniversary of the end of hostilities during the First World War. It is the day that commemorates the contribution made by British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women during that bloody awful war, subsequent wars and other armed conflicts. It is the equivalent of Veterans Day and we wear a poppy in pride. It was a magnificent fall (Autumn) day in Northern Virginia today (8 Nov 20) and a barmy 18 degrees C (65F). The temperature coupled with clear skies and beautiful sunshine offered the perfect opportunity for me to remember and reflect on my time in the military whilst recognising the freedoms we all share today as a direct result of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It just so happens, today was also Bikes & Breakfast in Clifton, Virginia. The weather being the draw card for some 300+ motorcycles over a period of just three hours. Every genre of bike was there including some one-off custom bikes, three wheelers and a wide variation of vintage machines. Once again thanks to John Esposito for hosting this extremely popular event. Enjoy the smorgasbord of bikes on this Rememberance Day.
