The Distinguished Gentelemens Ride (DGR) - Ride for Mens Health

On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.

I am the second owner of this 51 year old Honda CB350F. I bought it off a gentlemen in his 80's who was to old to ride it anymore (failing sight and ill health). He bought it brand new in 1973. I will be riding this bike in his honour and to the dear friends I have lost through cancer and suicide.

Will update blog with pictures after the event. Thank you for supporting.

UPDATE........I decided to replace my little Honda with my 2018 Triumph T120 as the event was sponsored by Triumph. The weather gods were on our side delivering a slightly cloudy but warm and dry day. All 120 plus riders started and finished with no adverse incidents. The Leesburg chapter raised $30,000 for Men’s mental health and prostate cancer research, so a successful day all up. When you start a motorcycle event like this at a main dealership (Motorcycles of Dulles) and end up at a brewery (Lost Barrel Brewery), all whilst raising money for a great cause, then we have nothing to complain about and everything to be grateful for. Friends were made today and I had the perfect opportunity to promote my books at the same time. Surpassed my original goal of raising $500 by over 60% reaching $801 in the end. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your support. Till next year then…..
